Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing and implementing the overall marketing strategy for the company; coordinating and enforcing branding guidelines and standards across departments and business lines; and managing all content for sales collateral, advertising, external websites, social media platforms and printed signage for events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and BASIC DUTIES

  • Develops a marketing strategy supporting strategic plan initiatives across bank functions, including subsidiaries and related lines of business.

  • Develops an in-depth knowledge of the bank's products and services, including digital transaction and communication channels and participates in white paper development where beneficial.

  • Facilitates the creation and production of marketing, collateral and business development packaging materials.

  • Includes strong graphic design expertise for print ads, promotional collateral material and online/digital graphic promotional advertising.

  • Ensures a consistent branding image is maintained in all advertising/collateral materials.

  • Within the creative development scope, welcomes input for revisions based upon alternative objectives.

  • Coordinates advertising schedules and placement, as required for ads placed market publications, on-line and community program books, newsletters, etc.

  • Creates and distributes press releases highlighting noteworthy news events within the bank.

  • Reviews specifications sheets, obtains and prepares bids, and acts as specialist with vendors when delivering marketing material and scheduling proofs and meetings.

  • Communicates with staff and outside vendors (e.g. designers, printers, mail houses, copy writers, and media ad providers) in coordinating the implementation of marketing promotions and projects

  • Compiles and produces sales and marketing reports for assigned programs.

  • Assists in ongoing process improvement within online websites and creates online content.

  • Creates strategies and ideas to promote the bank through social media.

  • Tracks, collates and maintains inventory of marketing materials, as required.

  • Maintains inventory of photo work, artwork and media work, and maintains marketing collateral material, archive files and sample files. Ensures all photos and artwork are properly licensed.

  • Manages an ongoing budget to ensure prudent expense control.

  • Plays an active role as called upon for internal and external event planning and management.

  • Assists with presentations as needed for bank meetings.

  • Assists Line of Business heads (Retail, Commercial, Mortgage) with the knowledge of ongoing community events, including but not limited to, market business development opportunities, chamber events, expositions, school business development opportunities and other client acquisition programs.

  • Works in close conjunction with Compliance to insure all marketing materials are compliant following regulatory guidelines.

  • Ensures regulatory signage is compliant.

  • Assists with marketing support for the mortgage service subsidiary.

  • Contributes to a positive team working experience within the bank.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.

  2. Has responsibility for following regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.

  3. Performs the functions of other positions in the branch when the need arises.

  4. Performs other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge Requirements:

Minimum Education/

Certification:

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communication or other related area. Previous banking courses would be helpful.

Required Knowledge:

Must have a thorough Knowledge of principles and methods for selling commercial and retail bank products or services. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Ability to close business proposals.

Preferred Knowledge:

Knowledge of SalesForce software highly preferred. Work software including Microsoft Office, Office 365, MS Publisher, Adobe Suite, all mediums of social media and other related marketing software needed.

Experience Requirements:

Required Experience:

Direct customer related experience in a financial institution is required. Previous business development experience is essential.

Preferred Experience:

Four plus years of Bank Marketing related experience or proven commercial and retail business development experience highly preferred.

Skills Requirements:

Required Skills:

Must possess highly developed interpersonal and negotiating skills. Must be an effective motivator and communicator with customers, prospects and staff. Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be organized and detail oriented. excellent writing, presentation, project management, problem-solving and leadership skills. A proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel are required

Preferred Skills:

The ability to conduct staff meetings and periodic training classes is desired.

Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements:

Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and bend. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have the ability to work the days and hours required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Mental Demands:

Learning, thinking, concentration, the ability to influence, lead and interact well with others, the ability to exercise self-control, and the ability to work under stressful conditions, particularly in customer and employee relations’ situations are necessary. Must have the ability to make decisions and exercise discretion when necessary.
